I cannot even TELL you how chuffed I am to be writing a blog post!! I will be honest.. I MISS days I don’t get the chance to blog.. I honestly wish I could write a post EVERY DAY!! But you all know there are just NOT enough hours in the day!!! I also LOVE setting days aside where I can spend time catching up on other blogs/YouTube videos… I personally think it is SO important to spend time reading your blogging buddies’ hard work.. remember they probably put JUST as much effort into their posts.. and we ALL know the amazing feeling we get when people LOVE your post!! So go on angels.. SHARE THE LOVE!!
RIGHT loves… I wanted to share a beauty post with you all today WOOP! ‘CAUSE WE ALL LOVE A GOOD BEAUTY POST RIGHT?! So.. something that I am sure is important to probably EVERYONE here is having clear skin!! Now of course.. I know there are SO many factors that can affect how clear your skin is… such as genes, environment, makeup etc… but I wanted to give you a few tips on what has worked for me… and HOPEFULLY some of these will work for you too lovelies!!
I think it is important to talk a TEENY bit about my skin first (this is always helpful right!?)… so if you have a similar skin type to me.. maybe we can be beauty product twins?
I have combination skin – My t-zone is VERY oily (boo!).. and my cheeks tend to either be normal, or slightly dry. I rarely get breakouts.. fast food (aka the yummiest food ever) is the main cause of any spots I get. Also.. mucky make-up brushes (I know this sounds gross but we are all guilty of it.. yes I am looking at YOU girlies!) give me spots.. I need to learn!
So loves… I have recently REALLY started looking after my skin and got myself into a little routine.. and wanted to mix this up with some tips that YOU can use to get clear skin (hopefully!!!). Sound exciting? Well.. let’s get right on with the post!!!
Have a Proper Night Time Routine♥
Since I have got a good night time routine set up.. I notice ALL the difference in my skin in the morning! Think about it like this loves… you spend most of the day with a face full of make up on (usually), in a stuffy office/shop/classroom… and even your house for that matter… your poor skin will be exposed to all sorts of toxins/nasty stuff.. surely it deserves some extra TLC at night? NOW I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL GIRLIES.. by the time it gets to bed time.. you reach for your makeup wipes that you have on your bedside table, “remove” your makeup… and get straight to sleep. I don’t blame you for doing that either.. you are absolutely shattered, all you want is your bed. I was the same.. BUT I did notice that my skin just looked dull when I woke up… and did not have that “fresh faced” look… so I thought to myself.. “my skin deserves some loving”… and I set aside 15 minutes of my evening to fully focus on my night time routine!
First point of action.. thoroughly remove all make-up that is on my face! GET RID OF THOSE MAKEUP WIPES LOVES! Pick yourself up a cream cleanser/micellar water/cleansing balm.. whatever would work best for your skin! I find that the Supernatural Glorious Cleansing Balm works an absolute dream on my skin. It is a oil based product, and I rub the balm between my fingers then rub all over my face and eyes. The result is MELTED MAKEUP ALL OVER YOUR FACE! I then use a warm wash cloth to remove all of the makeup.. it literally just slides off and leaves your skin looking SO refreshed and clean!
I then use my ESSENTIAL PRODUCT.. if you do not have this.. GET IT OR SOMETHING SIMILAR. It has honestly made one of the biggest difference to how clear my skin is ! This dream product is the Magnitone Barefaced Facial Brush… I use it with either Movis Soap from Lush or Clinique’s Foaming Wash. Once this has been done.. I pat my face dry and move on to the next step! MOISTURIZING! Am I the only one who spends a good 5 minutes just giving myself a little facial massage every night? It helps so so much in reducing puffiness, giving a natural glow and lifting and firming the skin! Ooooh come on… who wouldn’t want to do that every night!! You also do not need some fancy, expensive moisturizer.. whatever works for you will be fine!! Hey.. I even use coconut oil on alternate nights (effective AND affordable!).. this is AMAZING! I am honestly thinking of doing a full post/video on coconut oil .. it is a dream product!
That is my little facial routine for the evenings.. trust me loves.. if you incorporate something like this into your evening.. you WILL notice a difference.. give it a go darlings and let me know how you get on!
Scrub A Dub Dub♥
Ahhhhh SCRUBS! In my personal opinion.. there is nothing that makes my skin look AS CLEAR than after I have used a scrub. And it is 100% understandable.. when you use a scrub, you are basically removing all the dirt/dead skin (ew I know ha!) from your face and revealing clean & refreshed skin! I would recommend using a scrub 1-2 times a week.. It is best to not use it too often as you do not want to over-scrub your poor skin. Trust me loves.. add a scrub to your weekly face routine and notice the difference straight away. I highly recommend the St Ives Apricot Scrub, or the one below from Cylax (this was a very affordable one from a Pharmacy).. it has been a firm favourite of mine for years.. but I know there are SO many amazing ones out there! Make Time for Masks♥
Ahhhh.. face masks… tell me someone who doesn’t love a good face mask.. even my husband and brother have been known to join in on my weekly routine! A face mask once or twice every week works an absolute TREAT for making your skin look clear! I would recommend the Lush ones HANDS DOWN.. they have fresh face masks for every single type of skin out there… AND THEY SMELL GORGEOUS AND ARE ALL NATURAL! Yay! Another FAVE of mine that just leaves my skin looking SO bright & clear is the Rituals Vitality and Energy mask. So darlings.. add in a mask 1-2 times a week.. and notice the difference in your skin! I have also been LOVING the Lush Full of Grace* serum to use after masks… it makes my skin GLOW.
Clean Those Mucky Brushes♥
So.. as mentioned previously… one thing that gives me spots is if I am lazy and do not clean my make-up brushes! Now… I know we are all so guilty of doing this.. me included.. HOWEVER when I started noticing I was getting spots without changing anything in my routine.. I slowly realized it was those make-up brushes that hadn’t been cleaned…. hmmmm… gross I know! Now.. I ALWAYS try my best to wash them every week.. that way I know they will not affect my skin! I also recommend cleaning your phone on a daily basis, changing your pillow cases every week AND avoid touching your face! Little things like this really CAN make all the difference loves!
Dealing With Spots♥
Ohhhh…. HOW ANNOYING .. you spend all that time perfecting your skin care routine.. and you STILL get that pesky spot.. grr!! Don’t worry.. I have the perfect thing that you can use!! Now.. this item does work a treat for me.. however EVERYBODY is different so I would not know if it would work in the same way for you (unfortunately!).. but that product is GERMOLENE! Now.. this is actually an antiseptic and anaesthetic cream.. usually used for cuts/bites & burns.. BUT can also be used on spots! Savlon is another similar product.. and I actually keep one in my handbag.. and anytime I ever do get the SLIGHTEST spot.. I put some of this on straight away.. and NO WORD OF A LIE GUYS… the spot has gone down within hours! If I ever notice any spots appear at night.. I apply a thin layer of this and they are almost invisible in the morning! It really is an amazing product that works SO well.. I highly recommend… as it is afforable too, yay! ALSO… avoid touching ANY breakouts you get.. this will only pass on germs to other areas of your face AND MAKE THINGS WORSE.. NOO! Just apply some Savlon/Germolene.. and leave them to heal on their own!
Water.. And Plenty of It♥
If there is anything you take away with this post.. let it be this step lovelies!!It is probably the easiest, quickest and cheapest way to clear skin… And it is of course.. DRINKING WATER. We all know the benefits of drinking water so I am not even going to go into detail… just do it darlings! Buy yourself a pretty tumbler or bottle (I recommend Primark or B&M for cute ones!).. and set yourself a goal do drink at lease 2 litres a day! You will soon pick up the habit AND notice a massive difference in your skin! Yay!!
So my loves… these are the steps I take to ensure my skin is as clear as I can get it ! Of course.. there are some miracle products that can cost A TON of money… but really all you need are a few essentials, plenty of glasses of water AND SAVLON FOR YOUR BREAKOUTS hehe. OH.. and try to get plenty of sleep.. I am still working on this though muahaha.
I really hope this post helped some of you.. I am a massive believer that you do not have to spend a ton of money to get clear skin.. in fact most of it depends on what you put in your body.. so try to avoid takeaways too (these are the devil to me.. I ALWAYS get a few spots on a weekend when I eat naughty things.). Also… I was lucky enough to not suffer from acne when I was younger… but if you have scarring from acne.. try coconut oil or bio oil.. I know SO many people who use it and have noticed a massive difference! Remember darlings.. you know your skin better than anyone.. so try to use products specifically for your skin type… and if you do suffer from quite bad acne.. pop a visit to your doctor who should be able to help!
