Yes you read the title right guys – I only bloody have some Bath & Body Works bits (!!!!!!). Yep – I FINALLY GOT MY HANDS ON SOME ! How you ask? Well – my dad actually went to New York with work and happened to be a 10 minute drive away from a Bath & Body Works. And you bet I was on a video call whilst he was in the shop (LOL) – this is what ya gal had to do to get some products guys – it’s just gotta be done.
I know I know you can do the whole mailing/postal thing – but I guess I just a) don’t get it, & b) am scared I will get hit with a huge customs charge, because no doubt I will order a crap load of stuff. I’ll be honest though – since using the bits I got, I may have to do my research & take the risk of customs because I don’t know what I’ll do once I run out *cries*.
Anyway – enough babbling on, what did I actually GET I hear you ask. Of course – not having ever smelt ANYTHING from the store isn’t really helpful, so I just had to wing it based on what I’ve seen other people rave about, and also what just seemed like it would SMELL GOOD. Also – bless my dad but we all know they’re not the best at describing scents (example – I asked how something smelt – he said it’s ‘nice’ – that’s ALL).
This was probably the first thing I told my dad to look for – every single haul you see features this scent. And I knew I had to have it because there is nothing more that I love than a good, sweet vanilla scent. The description includes the following – Intoxicating Vanilla, White Orchid, Sparkling Sugar, Fresh Jasmine, Creamy Sandalwood. Nom. I’ll be honest – when I smelt it, it was definitely not what I was expecting. I thought it would be a lot more on the sickly, sugary side of vanilla – you know the type that smells like birthday cake ? Yep that. However, it is more of a floral vanilla – almost the grown up version of vanilla. It definitely has the ‘warming’ scent and is not sickly at all. I absolutely LOVE it – mainly because of the fact that I’ve not smelt anything like it before.
The packaging is absolutely stunning, and I love the shape of the bottle itself (probs not that important but it has one of those lids that is SO satisfying to open/close). It lathers up really nicely, the scent definitely lingers on your skin for a while after which is something I really love in a shower gel. Overall – I can definitely see what the hype is over this scent – I’m going to be gutted when it’s finished & think I may need to look into how I can get myself some more …
Another one is the popular Sweet Pea scent – I thought this would be a lovely one for the upcoming spring season (when it eventually gets here may I add). The notes it has are Sweet Pea (obvs), Watery Pear, Sheer Freesia, Luscious Raspberry & Soft Musk. Again this is a lovely, sweet floral scent and I know this is going to be a dream for morning showers during Spring time. I love that it is both a mix of a floral & fruity scent – but it’s definitely more on the floral side. It doesn’t have that grandma kind of floral scent though which is nice!
I think this is my favourite scent after the vanilla one because guys it’s smells like RHUBARB & CUSTARD – and I don’t know ANYONE who doesn’t love a rhubarb & custard. The notes of this are Blushing Peach, Jasmine Petals, White Nectarine, Apple Blossom & Sheer Freesia. Hands up if you think that’s a dreamy combination ? This is the fruitiest scent out of them all and is definitely going to be my summer shower gel!
As you can probably guess – I am absolutely chuffed with all the shower gel scents. I just love the massive variation they have – what I would have done to be in that store! Each shower gel contains Shea Butter, Vitamin E & Aloe so they are really moisturising and don’t leave your skin with the weird dry feeling. I personally think they are pretty decent in price, as they match up to the Lush shower gels (around £9-10 for 250ml) – this might seem quite a lot to people who just buy any shower gel that might be on offer, but if you like to spoil yourself in the shower, then these are definitely worth it. However, lets just say I have told Saj NOT to use these especially as I am not yet sure l how I am going to order more from them yet!
I also got one of the Super Smooth Body Lotions in the Warm Vanilla Scent just to see how the formulation would be. It’s enriched with Shea Butter & Coconut Oil, and it is a lovely moisturiser for every day to follow up with your shower gel. The formulation is not too thick, and sinks into your skin really easily and quickly. You don’t need a lot of it and it definitely leaves your skin feeling SO soft, without that icky greasy feeling. After using this with the shower gel, I found the scent lasted for AGES on my skin – I was still smelling it for hours afterwards! I wish I’d got the matching lotions for the other two – but what can you do ey? The only thing I don’t like about this is the packaging – I find it pretty ugly to be honest – looks like one of the mouthwashes I have. It definitely does not do justice for the fabulous product inside. Aside from that – I love this little baby!
Last but by no means least – I got a candle. This is obviously the thing that Bath & Body Works is SO famous for and I knew I had to have at least one to see what all the hype was about. With it coming up to Spring/Summer, these are the type of scents they had – so I trawled the website to see what I should go for, and the scent Watermelon Lemonade just stuck out to me. If that doesn’t get you in the mood to whack out your sunnies and have a mocktail I don’t know what will. So the notes in the candle are Watermelon Ice, Sparkling Water & Meyor Lemon. Let me tell you – the hype around these candles is definitely there for a reason. I have never smelt a candle SO strong in my life. I found this even more powerful than some of the Yankee Candles I own – even if you don’t burn it and just keep the lid off you can smell it from the other side of the room. It’s a really fruity, sweet smell and reminds me of having watermelon & lemonade on a hot day. It’s SO yummy and honestly has made me WANT SUMMER TO BE HERE. When you do burn it though it makes your room, your hallway – in fact the whole FLOOR smell amazing. And it sticks around way after you’ve blown it out. Having one of these has only made me want to place an order for more – especially as they are currently 12 dollars compared to the usual 24 dollars!
Basically – the UK needs to sort itself out and get a Bath & Body Works here – I still don’t know why we are deprived of having one of these amazing stores near us *cries*. In the meantime though – I’ve spotted that there are some bits you can buy off Amazon (!!!), so check it here if you want to see what you can get your hands on!
I’m off to burn my summery candle and dream of summer days whilst there is rain pouring on my window. Nice. Have a lovely weekend guys
