I have wanted to get my mitts on some Glossier products for absolutely ages – and around a month ago I finally caved and did. All I kept seeing was every single person raving about them – and when this is normally the case I feel the need to cave in and buy things. So I did. And to be fair, I didn’t really have everyday skincare products that were new either – I had plenty of scrubs and masks – but was lacking a good makeup remover/daily cleanser and moisturiser. For a while now, I have used makeup wipes or micellar water to remove my makeup – and sure these things do the job but I was just getting bored and wanted to try something new.

Of course – it was a no brainer that I was going to pick the Milky Jelly Cleanser (£15)as it was exactly what I was looking for – AND people have featured it as their cult product from Glossier. Needless to say I was dead excited to give this a go. So, is is essentially a gentle, gel cleanser that removes makeup and cleanses the skin; it has a blend of 5 skin conditioners (including rosewater) and the stuff used in contact lens solution, meaning it is REALLY gentle on the eyes. You can use it as a facial cleanser or makeup remover, or both – which I really like. So many makeup removers, especially balms that I have tried only work as that and you have to cleanse your face after with something separate to get your skin feeling really clean. So – how do I use this? In the morning, I apply one pump of this stuff onto a wet face and use my Magnitone cleansing brush. The texture feels so lovely on my skin and is really refreshing to use – it has a SLIGHT rose scent, but nothing too offensive. After washing it off, I am left with skin that feels so clean, not stripped of anything and it is silky smooth too. I have normal/combination skin and I find this works perfectly to cleanse my skin and get rid of any dirt – I have even used it without my Magnitone and even though it doesn’t feel AS deeply cleansed, it still does the job fantastically. On an evening, I use it as a makeup remover on dry skin – I still use one pump and find this is enough to remove my daily makeup (mascara, foundation, brows, blusher, highlight), and again it is really gentle but removes it well. I was a little sceptical at first because it didn’t seem like it would have enough power to remove the lashing of mascara I wear on a daily basis – but I found it did a pretty good job. And because it is so gentle on the eye – I wasn’t left with sore eyes afterwards. Winning. I then rinse my face, and actually CLEANSE my skin (literally just repeat what I do in the morning). I then go over with the Pixi Glow Tonic afterwards and my skin has NEVER felt so cleansed.

Overall – the  Milky Jelly Cleanser is definitely my new fave thing – it is so easy to use, so gentle and does exactly what it says on the tin. I think it is perfect for everyday cleansing and makeup removal – however for anyone who may wear heavier makeup, it may be worth using something more oil based/or a micellar water to remove makeup first – I found that when I wore eyeliners, more face makeup and lipstick, I used a lot of product and I had to go over with a micellar water to REALLY feel like all my makeup was off my face. But for everyday, it is an absolute dream and I really enjoy using it and love how it makes my skin feel. DEFINITELY worth the hype it has been given – hands up who else loves the Milky Jelly Cleanser?

The next thing I was on the hunt for was an everyday moisturiser – so no guesses as to what else I picked up. The Priming Moisturiser (£18) is known as a light and buildable moisturiser that also doubles up as a primer to create a smooth canvas for makeup. I use this on a morning after I have done the whole cleansing thing – and again I have found it does exactly what it says. It is an amazing everyday moisturiser – has a slightly runnier texture than I was expecting, but once I apply it to my face and blend in, it sinks in quickly and leaves my skin feeling soft, looking even and ready for applying my makeup. It also has an anti-redness feature which has worked so well for me because my nose is always slightly more red than the rest of my face – so using these has really helped even everything out nicely. I think it is a combination of both the cleanser and moisturiser, but my makeup has become so easy to apply and just sits nicely on the face. I just love these products because they do exactly what they say they will. If you are after an everyday moisturiser that just does what is is supposed to – moisturises well, leaves your skin feeling soft, and blurs any imperfections, then this is your guy.

And those are the first few (of many) Glossier products that I have trialled (and loved) so far. I think these are a good few products to start with as you will use them everyday and really get a feel of if they work for you. They are also cult products that almost everyone raves about already, and it is so easy to see why. Their packaging is minimal but just beautiful, they are cruelty free, and their products offer exactly what they should. You need to try them – I am so sure you will love them. I am already deciding on what other items I need to try – let me know if you have any recommendations?

Gonna love ya and leave – enjoy the rest of your day babes x

Where are all my pregnant ladies at? I know there are a lot of you out there – and I know there are SO many things that I think about/have thought about that has most likely crossed your mind too. Cos pregnancy is FAB right? So many changes happening to your body, mind, emotions .. it’s only normal for our heads to wander and think certain things right? I can 100% say all the below have crossed my mind at one point – and I’m sure the same will apply to some of you. And if you’re not pregnant – hope these make you giggle a little bit.

‘I have just peed – why the HELL does my bladder still feel full ?!’

And of course – we get this feeling in full force at 3am in the morning. And no matter how much you want to just stay in bed, the niggling thought that you may wet the bed is too much and you HAVE to get up and go to the loo again.. only to pee out a trickle. Nice.

‘Speaking of weeing – I don’t seem to be in full control of my bladder anymore… sneeze, laugh, or move too suddenly…’

Unfortunately, with so much pressure on your bladder and the massive hormone changes in your body, stress incontinence is something a lot of pregnant women have to deal with – and occasionally a little leakage DOES happen. Wonderful.

‘Will my boobs ever go back to normal?’

Shape, size, colour, texture – who knows?!

‘It’s 8am in the morning WHY THE HELL DO I HAVE HEARTBURN?!’

The joys of heartburn – all you’ve had is a piece of toast with a teeny bit of butter and your chest is already on fire. In fact – it feels like your baby is pushing burning hot acid up your throat. Thanks hun.

‘Wow I didn’t realise I could sweat THERE too’

Pregnancy makes you warm. REALLY warm – and you sweat in the weirdest places. You’re getting bigger by the day, and of course it’s those pesky hormones again making your body feel warmer than usual. Stick to light, breathable fabrics and wear layers instead of chunky knits to avoid TOO much sweating.

‘I swear if someone asks me how many are in there ONE MORE TIME….’

Is it because I’m huge? Am I walking funny ? Did I really grow THAT much from when you last saw me? It takes all your patience to not say anything back.. and instead smile and nod. Smile and nod. Or if it’s later on in pregnancy and you’re getting fed up, just tell them to f***off.

‘Does this baby want to actually RUIN my insides?!’

How much damage can a tiny little thing actually cause ? You feel battered and bruised and you wonder how baby has that much STRENGTH when they are SO TINY.

‘When did rolling over in bed become SUCH a workout?’

I swear it takes at least a couple of minutes to mentally prepare yourself to roll over. Then once you have, you’re still not comfortable and have to do the whole thing AGAIN.

‘I wonder if people will notice that I have already worn this?’

Because when you get to a stage, there are only CERTAIN things that you feel comfortable in to wear all day. And why it is not acceptable for pregnant women to wear PJ’s in public yet is beyond me.

‘Have to remember to pack more pantyliners.’

Yep. Gotta love ’em. Enough said.

‘Shit did I lock the door? Did I put on deodorant this morning?! Why is there orange juice in my cereal? Where have I parked my car at work?!’

Yes – all of the above are things that I have thought, because it’s true – pregnancy DOES make you forgetful. I noticed this starting around 25 weeks, and I honestly felt like I was getting slightly dopey. Blame it on baby brain guys.

‘I wonder how many times I have actually burped/farted today?’

You genuinely lose count. It’s that many times. You’re pregnant – nobody is allowed to judge you.

‘How has it become so hard to SHAVE!?’

Because you’ve got a big massive bump covering  EVERYTHING and making it hard to bend over. And it’s 100% your own personal choice what you do – leave it, get waxed or get a mirror out. FUN.

‘I wonder what “down there” looks like, and if it will ever look the same again’

Firstly, with your bump in the way, you lose actual sight of it anyway. Apparently, it is normal for it to change colour, shape AND size during pregnancy. THEN you have to deliver a baby. Safe to say I think it will probably resemble something out of one of the Saw movies. Beautiful.

‘I’m going to have to actually push a baby out of me – crap.’

No amount of ‘one born every minute’ is going to prepare you for it. It’s my first baby so of course I feel anxious, scared and a little bit lost. It’s normal. And hey, if you poop during labour, that’s pretty normal too. Good to know.

‘I’m going to have my own little human in a few weeks – SHIT’

Yep – it’s all going to become pretty real soon. All those 9 months and the struggles you go through – but it’s all worth it in the end.

Right guys – I hope this post gave you a little giggle and an insight into a pregnant woman’s mind. If you are pregnant atm – let me know if you have had any of the above thoughts! If you aren’t, I hope this post made you laugh and maybe feel a teeny bit sorry for us. Pregnancy is such an amazing, funny & scary experience, all at the same time – we’ve just gotta embrace it!

I am now off to get some breakfast and do some homeware shopping. Hope you all have a fabulous Saturday.

Lotsa love,

Pregnancy. What a time for us ladies to go through – you experience the most amazing time of your life… you’re growing your own little human, feeling them move inside you (or as I have found out, literally beat you), getting to know them before anyone else does, being their main source of everything for 9 months…. It’s a pretty magical time. But GOD can it be tough on us too – I think I’ll post separately about that because that is something I can go on about for AGES. But nah – in this post I’m focusing on something else. I’m currently 29 weeks pregnant – wow – finally hitting my third trimester. The end is nigh – and pretty soon I will have a little teeny tiny baby. I STILL find that so hard to get my head around!

Now – there are certain things that I have introduced into my life since being with child that has not only made my pregnancy easier, but has helped me really embrace and enjoy it. They have helped me get through the tough times – and I honestly have been obsessed with them. There is a mixture of beauty, fashion & just some random bits too – nice little combo for ya. I also know there are quite a few other bloggers who are currently pregnant – so I thought maybe they could also benefit from this too (helping out all my future mama’s). And sure, I know every single pregnancy is different and what works for one person may not work for the other and blah blaaah… but I have found that I LOVED reading about other pregnancies and what worked for them, or if they had similar experiences to me…. so with that being said .. let’s crack on.

Fashion Bits

Maternity Jeans/Leggings

Eugh guys .. if there is something that you need to invest in early, make it maternity jeans. I think I picked up my first pair before I’d even hit 12 weeks because BLIMEY did I bloat. It was the Joni jeans from Topshop, and they were literally the best things I ever bought. I could have slept in them they were that comfy. I was lucky enough to get another pair from my sister which she’d barely worn when she was pregnant as she’d brought them towards the end of her pregnancy – which was handy. I then purchased a blue pair from Mothercare (again SO COMFY AND currently on sale) and some black maternity leggings, because I knew I would be LIVING in them.

Basic Tops

Now, one thing I was so chuffed about was that I would be pregnant throughout winter, simply because I knew I would be able to literally live in leggings, oversized jumpers & cardigans. I’m not the biggest fan of dressing for summer, and knew I would have struggled if I was pregnant too, not to mention having to deal with any hot, sweaty days (no thanks hun). So.. I already had plenty of oversized jumpers which have fit me fine throughout my pregnancy. Now, I went through a stage where I tried to hide my bump too, but then over time I really started to embrace it, so wanted to buy some tops that would show it off. I hit up Mothercare again because I knew they had some basic tops on a 2 for £18 offer (some of these are on sale now too!) – so I picked a few up. I now wear these SO much, especially with layering because it’s still SO COLD outside. I know you can also get basics from Primark but just in bigger sizes, which I will probably do if I ever need some more. But yas – you can do SO MUCH with them: layer them, wear them on their own, with a big cardi over, under a jumper – whatever you fancy.

Oversized cardigans

I HAD to mention this because it has probably been my most worn item EVER – and it is that ever so popular River Island cardigan (which I managed to pick up in the sale too .. YAS). It is SO comfy and it literally just goes with anything as well – and I am so tempted to pick up the grey version too. It’s STUNNING.

Makeup Bits

So – there really isn’t much to talk about makeup-wise because I’ve been pretty much wearing the same thing (mostly just because I’ve been lazy (ahem tired) and just stick to my normal products. In fact some weekends I don’t even bother with any makeup – however when I do go out somewhere, one thing I haven’t been able to live without is concealer. Of course, if you have read my previous blog post, you’ll know the one I’ve been OBSESSED WITH. It’s the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define concealer, and it is my holy grail for covering those pesky dark circles I have developed (thanks to not sleeping well during the night). It just does a cracking job at covering them, and also brightening up the rest of my face (on days I use just this). Love it.

Oh – I forgot there was another makeup bit. That fabulous priming/finishing spray from Rimmel – the Insta Fix & Go. I LOVE this because it not only sets your makeup nicely, it feels so refreshing when you spray it too. I’ve always been the type of person who gets VERY cold – but recently I’ve been feeling pretty warm, so a quick spritz of this really helps me feel refreshed!

Now – skincare bits are what I’ve been loving so much recently – and there are definitely some faves that I have been drawn to since being pregnant. I’m not sure if I ever got that natural pregnancy ‘glow’ that everyone goes on about, but I feel like certain products I’ve used have really helped.

Superdrug  Vitamin E Leave On Moisture Mask

I’ve been OBSESSED with using this overnight mask – in fact anything that refreshes my skin is what I’ve been loving. I tend to use this a few times a week, and just apply it (quite liberally) on a night after I have cleansed, and just let it soak into my skin. In the morning, I am left with glowing skin that feels refreshed & so soft. I love that the texture of this is ‘bouncy’ – and is more of a gel like serum than a moisturiser. You NEED to try it. I can do an proper in depth review of this if you guys would like too.

Lush Brazened Honey Mask

I do love me a good mask – and this is definitely no exception. During pregnancy, I have found my skin just looks a little bit dead, so I’ve been using anything that helps with brightening and softening. I managed to get this mask free in Lush after taking back 5 empty pots, and picked it up because it claimed to refresh, soothe and moisturise … which basically is what my skin is needing. I have been so chuffed with this too – it smells lovely (slightly sweet, slightly herbal, but not too overpowering), and isn’t harsh at all – compared to the ever so popular Mask of Magnaminty. I wasn’t prepared to but anything really harsh on my skin, so this works perfectly.

L’Oréal Smooth Sugar Scrub – Glow Scrub

Ahhh .. this little angel. I actually wrote a whole blog post dedicated to it, so if you fancy checking it out – it’s here. But in short, it’s a gentle, yummy smelling scrub that leaves my skin feeling soft & with a beautiful glow. I have loved using it during pregnancy because of how gentle it is, and have stayed away from any of my other harsher scrubs (St Ives & Nip & Fab, I’m looking you!).

Now, I have no idea if it’s pregnancy or cold weather that has caused me to have really dry, chapped lips (attractive, I know).. but god have I been suffering. So of course, Carmex never leaves my side. I have one on my bedside table, one in my bag, and one on my desk. Apparently, lipbalm is a must when you’re in labour too, especially if you are hogging the gas and air. Guess this will find a home in my hospital bag then too.

Maternity pillow

You know something? I actually picked up a maternity pillow when I was around 12 weeks pregnant. Why? It was on offer in Mama’s & Papa’s, and I thought why not make the investment early. It was probably one of the best things I did too. I started to struggle to get comfortable in bed from very early on, so having a maternity pillow really helped me. I did try to just use a normal pillow at first, but I found it would just end up slipping off the bed. I am hoping it will come in handy for feeding too!

If you follow me on Twitter, you will know the struggle I have had with heartburn these past few weeks. It has been HORRENDOUS – and I don’t even know what sets it off sometimes. At night, it has been that bad I have actually woken up feeling like my chest is on fire. I sometimes even get it after breakfast. Bleugh. Probs gonna have a hairy baby ey? But yeah, Gaviscon has been my little desk/bedside table buddy.

Letter Board

Bit of a random one, but I felt like I had to include it. I managed to pick up one of the ever so popular letter boards from Primark at the bargain price of £3 (!!), and can honestly say I have become obsessed with it. Sure it makes a fab blog prop, but it is also being used as our countdown to when baby arrives! I have it on my drawers so I see it every single morning and am reminded each day of how long we have! It’s like a cuter, more instagrammable version of a calendar I guess, tehehe.

Right m’loves – I think that is it for me for this post. I feel like I have rambled on for AGES but hey, if it helps anyone then that makes me a happy bunny. Let me know what your fave things were whilst pregnant, or if you aren’t pregnant just what you are loving atm.

Ya gal is going to make herself some pancakes for breakfast and use her new 45mm lens (!!!!!!) – so I will catch you on all the flipside babes x

Saira xx

 Oh hey..

Ahh skincare. Skincare is something I really wanted to focus on this year. There are so many different brands out there with some fabulous products that are just calling out to be used. I’ve even made an exciting order on some particular products which I’ve been desperate to try – can’t wait to get my mitts on them and start reviewing !

For the past few months – I just stuck to the same skin regime – Movis Soap from Lush, any odd moisturiser I had lying around, and the odd mask here and there. But recently I introduced some new bits to my skincare ‘routine’ which I have been OBSESSED with. If you’re a skincare/beauty blogger – you will no doubt be very familiar with what I am going to talk about. And that’s the ever so popular L’Oréal masks & scrubs. I’m sure you’ve all seen those Instagram photos of the different coloured masks, each with their own ‘use’. After seeing so MANY amazing reviews about them.. I decided to pick some up.

L’Oréal Pure Clay Purity Mask

I decided on the Pure Clay Purity Mask because I do love me a good purifying, mattifying clay mask. I use this around once/twice a week as it is a pretty intense mask. I ensure my face is fully cleansed first then apply with a brush (seriously if you’ve not invested in a brush for your face masks do it NOW – it’s so worth it – and NO MESSY HANDS). It will feel pretty cold on the skin at first and even a little sting a little bit. This quickly passes and you can really feel the mask working on your skin. I leave it on for around 20 minutes before washing off. As with all clay masks, it’s a pain in the bum to remove – but I find holding a hot flannel over your skin before removing helps SO much. Et voila – I am left with skin that feels so clean & ‘tight’ (in a good way), like all my pores have been cleansed. It is also so soft and is left looking pretty radiant, if I do say so myself. I also find that any blemishes I may have are reduced the next day after using this. It’s a pretty amazing mask – and so worth the £8. It’s definitely on the more affordable sides of masks – I can even say it works just as well as my Khiels one.

L’Oréal Smooth Sugars Glow Scrub

So there I was .. strolling through Superdrug when I noticed some new bits from L’Oréal. Sugar scrubs. I’m such a massive sucker for a good sugar scrub. I love how gentle, yet effective they are. The fact that I had been so obsessed with the clay mask made me want to try this little baby. So I picked it up (at a pretty amazing price of £5 too – winning), and planned on using it as soon as I got home. The first thing I loved about it when I opened it was the scent – it had a yummy, sweet scent (it’s a sugar scrub – duh) – in fact I even had a cheeky taste. FYI – tasted like poo. I also found it was a lovely, non abrasive, creamy texture. It was SO easy to use on my face and I found it to be really gentle. It has grape seed oil in it too which meant it felt so nourishing, but I still felt the scrub was doing its job. Whenever I’ve made my own sugar scrubs, I’m always left with a greasy feel to my skin – but after washing this off it definitely was not the case. I find I love using this a few times a week, as it really just gives my skin that little bit of a pick me up and leaves it looking glowing and feeling SUPER soft. Oh, not to mention this one doubles up as a lip scrub too – which has been a SAVIOUR in winter for me!

It’s gotta be said guys – L’Oréal have REALLY impressed me with both of these products. I love that they come in jars which I find not only look prettier (shallow I know), but they are less messy. I would highly recommend checking these out, as they have a pretty decent variation depending on your skin type, or what type of mask/scrub you are after. I want to get a few more so I can have a mix of masks/scrubs to choose from – I will literally feel like a kid at a pick and mix stand!

If you’re on the hunt for some new skincare bits, I’d suggest having a little browse through what L’Oréal have on offer – especially these masks & scrubs. They have become cult products for me and I honestly look forward to using them (call me sad I don’t care). Also – make sure to let me know if you’ve already tried these and what your thoughts were.

I currently have the mask on right now and think it’s time to wash it off as I’m sure it’s been longer than 20 mins. Oops.

Chat soon .. lotsa love,

So I’ve FINALLY done it. My blog rebrand. It’s something I had thought about for SO long, and I first considered it last year when I was going through a phase of not loving my blog. I just felt like the style was a little bit dated and it just didn’t represent me. At that time I was hardly ever blogging too, and I think that was one of my main reasons why. My blog wasn’t my little ‘space’, and I didn’t love how it looked – which in turn obviously led me to not want to post often.

Let’s have a bit of a story time sesh .. I first started blogging over 2 years ago – and I started off in the fashion blogging world. I’d post OOTD’s and little ramblings of my life – and this eventually got more into beauty and lifestyle. I just seemed to steer away from fashion because I find that side a little bit overwhelming and pretty hard to keep up with. Not to mention having to rely on the weather a lot and with me working full time – wishing my weekends weren’t peeing it down – was HARD. I respect fashion bloggers SO MUCH because finding the time, right location and shooting amazing photos was something I just couldn’t keep up with. But hey you never know – I may want to start shooting OOTD’s again when I’m on maternity leave – maybe like quick outfits for mums or something. The option is there for me and I’m open to anything.

As mentioned, my main focus is now lifestyle, beauty and skincare – and of course pregnancy posts! I’ve found I LOVE the posts where I can just ramble on about lifestyle bits, but also just quick reviews or hauls of some beauty bits. And that’s where my new name ‘Saira Says’ came from – it’s just to the point and is literally a direct reflection of what my blog is. And that’s why I love it – it’s minimal in a way. I found ‘Through The Glitter Glass’ to become quite a mouthful after a while, and there was also no personalisation to it or indication of what my blog was about.

My blog has just grown with me – I’m not the same person I was when I started 2 years ago, and I have a new direction where I want my blog to go too. I always said I’d wait to see if I was going to put the time and effort into my blog before investing in it (i.e. Self hosting/domains/themes etc), and I am so glad that I waited too. I have some really exciting plans for my blog this year that I feel like I have the passion and drive to make happen. And rebranding my blog was the beginning of that – which has just set me up in the right way it should have done. I love my blog so so much, and feel excited to work on posts and put all my effort into it.

Also – if anyone is wondering how I did my whole rebranding – I literally left the whole thing to Pipdig. I was on – and I used their migration service to become self hosted via Social Ground (the service is free if you use their link & buy one of Pipdig’s themes) – and they literally sorted everything out. I chose a new domain name (Saira Says), and brought of of the themes (I love their minimal designs – it was exactly what I was after), and then completed a form online for them in install everything. Within a day – my new blog was set up (!!) – and I could not have been happier. I also changed my Instagram name (although SairaSays was TAKEN so I had to go for SaiiraSays which I am happy with) – and made sure all my links were updated. I am also going to make sure I get any links to my old blog name redirected to the new one – although since changing my links (and having all my followers migrated over too) I’m hoping this shouldn’t cause many issues!

I also want to create categories and maybe even design my own header that I’m happy with. And maybe even get some fancy widgets on there. The world is my oyster right now (well blog wise, lol).

So – Saira Says has now been born, and I am SO excited for you to follow my blog’s journey! I’d love your opinions on what you think of my blog, and also highly recommend Pipdig if you want to to migrate/buy themes etc – they’re legends *insert clapping emoji*

Lotsa love,
